Growing up I was very active. At 10 years old I began running competitively and I continued competing all throughout high school and college. However, just after college ended, I began a difficult journey that transformed my lifestyle for years to come.
I developed severe digestive issues that quickly worsened month after month. Many years passed and after several doctors and specialists, I still didn’t have answers. I was forced to become my own advocate and learn on my own. I sought out help from a nutritionist and a functional medicine doctor and I was able to heal my gut and gain a new perspective and respect for the power of food.
These were some of the hardest years of my life but it shaped who I am today. It took time, a lot of effort, but I can confidently say that I now have the tools and knowledge I need to keep myself healthy for many years to come. It also led me on the path to become a Nutrition Coach where I can now help others who are struggling with their health as I did for many years.
